Toronto Necropolis
Section X

Nestled within Toronto Necropolis is a space dedicated to those who served and sacrificed in global conflicts – the City of Toronto Soldiers’ Lot. This section honours Canadian servicemen who fought in the Boer War, World War I and World War II, reflecting a legacy of courage that spans generations.

The Soldiers’ Lot was donated by the City of Toronto to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission as a gesture of public remembrance. Its creation ensured that veterans who gave their lives in service would have a dignified resting place, maintained in perpetuity. Today, the lot stands as part of a network of war graves across Canada, cared for by the Commission to guarantee that no soldier’s sacrifice is forgotten.

This dedicated ground is more than a burial site; it is a living testament to Toronto’s role in global history and the gratitude of a city that remembers. Each stone tells a story of service, sacrifice and the hope for peace.
