Veteran Memorial at York Cemetery, c1930s

York’s dedicated veterans’ section honours Canadian and Allied veterans and their spouses. In recognition of their service and sacrifice, interment rights in this section are offered at a reduced cost.

Meadowvale War Memorial 

At the centre of this memorial landscape is Conflict, an interpretive sculpture by Toronto artist Kari Myllymaki. Its abstract granite forms and polished globe honour veterans without glorifying war, creating a contemplative space shaped in collaboration with arborist Jack Radecki.
