A Legacy at the Heart of 200 Years

As Mount Pleasant Cemetery marks its 150th anniversary, it stands as the central site of Mount Pleasant Group’s 200‑year milestone. This historic cemetery is a place of remembrance, care and reflection, holding stories that continue to shape the community it serves.

Throughout the anniversary year, a series of indoor and outdoor installations invite engagement with legacy, memory and meaning. Beginning in mid‑June, door portals evoke the experience of crossing a threshold, inviting reflection on grief, transition and memory. Timeline installations, made up of stacked blocks with printed panels, highlight key moments in MPG’s history. Interpretive and wayfinding signage throughout the grounds provide narrative prompts and contextual guidance.

Later in the summer, indoor plinths with multi‑sided signage offer additional historical and interpretive content, anchored by four‑sided or multi‑panel displays. Together, these installations form part of MPG’s network‑wide anniversary, connecting past, present and future through shared history and place.
