Jesse Nilsson was passionate about acting from a young age. He studied drama at the Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto and quickly made his mark on Canadian television. Fans remember him for roles in Ready or Not (1993–97) and as Eric Singer in Disney’s TV movie Model Behavior (2000).
Nilsson charmed audiences as Rollins in Our Hero (2000–02), the animal rescue guy with a quirky sense of humour. His final major role was as Gabriel Patterson in Adventure Inc. (2002–03), a series that showcased his adventurous spirit. Tragically, Jesse passed away on April 25, 2003, from pneumonia-related heart failure, just before the last episode aired. A tribute appeared in the closing frames: “In memory of Jesse Nilsson 1977–2003.”
